Dear all,
As we are progressing in this 21st century, many more people are remembering their healing abilities. Many workshops and programs are available to train people how to reconnect with their healing power in numerous modalities but regrettably more than often, students are left without any support and guidance after the training. This can be for some, no doubt, destabilizing.
The real work often begins after you first start to experiment with healing energy. The best teacher is life itself and healers essentially get their finest schooling on the spiritual trail. I was myself very fortunate to have a teacher who guided me along the way through those formative years. I would like to share with you a few principles I have made part of my personal oath:
The first step to become a healer/teacher is undeniably to heal oneself before attempting to help others. “Healer heal thyself”. We all admire those who walk their talk. If people are inspired by you to improve or change their life you can say you already had a contribution to humanity. Aim at being the best you can so you can be an inspiration to others.
On the other hand, don't put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect. It is totally acceptable to make mistakes. Consequently, learn to be compassionate to yourself so you will have more compassion for others and as a result you will inspire others to have compassion for themselves. Just this, is a great accomplishment in itself.
The next step is to recognize what kind of healing abilities you possess, and what kind of healing seems most natural and suitable to you. Do not fall into the trap of copying other healers/teachers. Spirit works in different ways in everybody. There are many different forms of healing skills, you just need to find yours. Being yourself is all that is required from you.
Keeping a solid anchor is a necessity for a healer/teacher. Root yourself deeply daily into mother earth and re-anchor yourself frequently, if needed. When you are solidly rooted, you can navigate easily through the ebb and flow of life. On the path, you never know what can come and shake your boat, be solid.
A daily spiritual practice, such as meditation is paramount in the life of healer/teacher. Make it your aspiration to be in communion with the energy of the universe so you can receive guidance at every moment in your life. Let the spirit of God work through you. Be open and receptive to guidance received.
Cultivate the aspect of your consciousness that acts as a shield between the arising of your feelings/emotions and your identification with them. Sometimes, the ego play tricks on the healer/teacher, in forms of emotions, images, impressions. It just an illusion, so do not get involved. Total honesty is required to stay clear of that pitfall. This is the realm of duality. Let go of all your thoughts and logic, all of your assumption about what is the matter with your client. Simply listen from your heart where non duality resides.
Be completely detached from the outcome of a healing. Trust that your client will get what is needed in the session. Sometime, your work is just to be planting a seed. I have learned that every thing comes in its own time. Trust the process of your client as well as you trust your own process.
Be very clear that you don't have any “doership” in the healing process. You are simply a channel. You are doing God's work. It is not you who is doing the healing work. It is the spirit of God that is working through you.
Understand that if you feel that you are holding energy, it's because you are working from your own will power (manipura chakra). You are not being a pure channel. Realign yourself because otherwise you will get sick in the long run.
Clients will often want to revisit old wounds. Letting go of the attachment of the pain is very challenging for many people. I have come to understand that emotional wounds are like physical wounds. If they have been cleaned, let them be. Don't facilitate the reopening of old wounds if it is unnecessary because they will never heal. By reopening them, you are not doing a favor to your client.
A professional healer/teacher doesn't go around offering healing sessions. When you offer unrequested healing to someone, it is assuming there is something wrong with the person. Some people may be offended. Let people know that you are available for sessions and let them ask you.
Be totally honest with your abilities. I personally believe that we cannot take people any further than where we have been. Therefore, make sure you have enough life experience before you start guiding people. If you have never been in the middle of the forest, how can you navigate people out of it?
Displaying your healing talents at parties, in bars or public areas is in realm of the ego. Let go of your identity as a healer/teacher when you are out in the world. Be your shinny self and humble at the same time.
Accept compliments graciously but don't pay too much attention to them. It is the same for criticisms, don't get destabilized by them. Otherwise your ego will go through turmoil. Of course, sometimes, it's important to listen to criticisms but do not worry too much about what people think you.
Finally, respect the sacredness and the privacy of a healing session.
Enjoy your path,
Much love,
Linda
New teacher at Intuitive Flow

I am also very proud to announce that we have a new teacher at Intuitive Flow. He will be teaching on Tuesday and Thursday from 17:30 – 19:00.
Eka Sabeh started practicing yoga four years ago in the midst of his busy schedule as a student at Gadjah Mada University , while also working as a radio announcer and a freelance researcher in Yogyakarta . He finds yoga as a way to balance his life, as well as to relax. Since then he always brings his yoga practice everywhere he goes around the world. He found his yoga mat as the best companion while finishing his master's degree in communications in the United States under the Fulbright Scholarship program. He continued to rely on his yoga practice as a way of balance when he spent another 1.5 years working as a broadcaster at the Voice of America in Washington DC . As this native Balinese yogi continued gaining various benefits through his yoga practice, he decided to move to Ubud to deepen his exploration of Yoga. In 2009 he joined BaliSpirit Festival, an international festival of yoga, dance and music as a marketing and communication manager while he continued to explore various styles of yoga from different teachers in Ubud. Upon the completion of his duty at the Festival, he received a scholarship from The School of Sacred Arts to participate in a 200 hours American Yoga Alliance certified yoga teachers training. Eka (AYL-200) teaches Hatha and Vinyasa yoga styles that he combines with Balinese tradition, and culture.
