This TOO SHALL PASS…

This TOO SHALL PASS…

WHAT IS THE CORONAVIRUS REALLY TEACHING US?

Many of you may be feeling overwhelmed due to the rapid unfolding of the past few weeks. We’ve gone from perceived-to-be social freedom to restriction and lockdown and the ripple effect continues to expand across all areas of life.

Retreat from the external world to experience our own innermost sanctuary

It is truly a genuine chance to slow down, find freedom from routine and the pressure that our modern lifestyle has placed upon us. A rare opportunity to begin self-practice, listening to your body and reconsider our values!

Ancient rishis wisdom: “Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world

Many of us will be feeling an intense lack of security as our foundations wash away during these uncertain times. Nothing will ever be the same. But if you feel you are in prison, you were already a prisoner. We are being offered the opportunity to awaken and appreciate different ways to “be” within this world. As we grapple with the triggers of sudden instability, we encourage you to use this time to sit and evaluate what that means to us. Journalling can be a great tool for self-enquiry.

The opportunity to commit to your daily practice off and on the mat

Take this time to become sovereign in your yoga practice and in your life. Commit to self-practice on your mat every day.
You can start the practice simply by noticing and be curious about:

  • The quality and the length of your breath
  • Your state of mind, body and heart
  • Your energy level
  • Your range of emotions

Observe with detachment and compassion

Be the witness of your inner landscape, observe the dance of Shakti and Shiva within you. The witness has an intimate knowledge of what it is observing, and yet it is detached, as it is watching a scene in the distance.

A lotus flower is unaffected by the muddy depth of its birth Or the water which sustains it….”

Be kind to yourself as you experience a range of extreme emotions.
Simply allow them to come and go without judgment and try to stay present.

Let’s continue to come together, support each other as a community. Reach out to people you have not talked to in a while, this will reignite feelings of ongoing security, safety and support.
